Huge congratulations to Crossfire Hurricane rum. Only just recently launched with Kite drinks and Global Rum Ambassador Ian Burrell, who re-created the rum blend for British Rock band The Rolling Stones, this is BIG news and well deserved. Judged blind against thousands of spirits from across the globe. The rum blend is formed from 4 of the 6 Jamaican distilleries, so it is no wonder they have won gold and silver for this amazing collaboration.
Crossfire Hurricane is a rare, 100% Jamaican blend. Pot still and column still, different fermentations, no added sugar, ever and in keeping with Jamaica’s geographical indication standards. Here’s what the IWSC esteemed judges say about our liquids:
Crossfire Hurricane Gold — Gold, 96 points
“Vibrant pineapple and grapefruit, underpinned by subtle oak seamlessly woven throughout. The mouth-filling palate reveals luscious caramelized red berries, rich chocolate, and nuances of liquorice, balanced by ripe fruit notes. It closes with a lively edge.”
Crossfire Hurricane Reserve — Silver, 92 points
“Honeycomb and toffee aromas with a palate featuring sweet, dried dates and sultanas, unfolding into warm caramel and milk chocolate. The finish offers a gripping hint of baking spice.”
A word from Cairbry Hill, our co-maker
“It’s fantastic to see Crossfire Hurricane recognised on a stage as demanding as the IWSC. These are rums made with real character and care, and to land both a Gold and a Silver in the same year is a huge achievement. Cheers to the team — thoroughly deserved.”
A medal like this is a verdict on all of the work that happens before the bottle reaches you: the sourcing, the blending, the obsessing over balance, the refusal to cut corners or add sugar to round off the edges. It’s a real testament to the care that goes into every bottle, and we couldn’t be prouder of the team behind it.
Well done to the team for this exceptional win and of course great rum!
