This was a huge moment, not just for the music world but also the rum world. Miss Amma Mensa Founder & CEO of Reign Rum, Ghana’s first African Rum, helped bring this epic vision to life. In a statement she said

35,000 people from across the UK and beyond gathered at Milton Keynes National Bowl on Friday, Aug. 7, for Diaspora Calling!, conceived and curated by Ms. Lauryn Hill and hosted by Chappelle.
The landmark celebration brought together an extraordinary cross-generational line-up featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Erykah Badu, YG Marley, Zion Marley, Giggs, Fireboy DML, Seun Kuti and The Compozers, alongside DJ sets from DJ OBI and Michael Brun.
There was also a surprise appearance from Kano during Giggs’ set, bringing together two of the most influential voices in British rap and adding another memorable collaboration to a day built around musical connections.
At the heart of the event was a celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Fugees’ landmark album The Score. Hill and Wyclef Jean revisited defining songs including “Ready or Not” and “Fu-Gee-La,” while also moving through highlights from their individual catalogues.
Jean performed “911,” while Hill delivered solo favourites including “Ex-Factor” and “To Zion.” One of the evening’s standout collaborations came during “Doo Wop (That Thing),” when Hill was joined by Erykah Badu.
Before the main event, Fugees duo Jean & Lauren also found time to visit London high street to serenade the crowd with Amma leading the way. A proud moment for African & the rum world, well done Reign.
