What a nice introduction to another aspect of the rum category many may not be aware of or ventured into yet. A ti punch is not made from the typical sugar cane molasses but from rhum agricole. So what’s the difference, I hear you say? Well, rhum agricole is the French term for sugarcane juice rum. Rhum is a term which typically distinguishes it in French-speaking locations from rum made with the typical molasses in other parts of the West Indies drinkers are more familiar with. Its preparation is considered an art because it requires each drinker to make the drink themselves, hence no measurements given, it is unique to each persons’ palette!
