Award season is almost upon us, with various events honouring the great works happening in the hospitality sector. The latest in up and coming award show events is The UK Caribbean Food Awards. Established in 2023 by Dawn Burton and Marsha Barnett, to celebrate the vibrant Caribbean culinary scene across the United Kingdom. As the nation’s only dedicated awards for Caribbean food and drink, the event honours a diverse range of talent—from restaurants and street food vendors to chefs, caterers, and media personalities. Rum has made its way into the nominees and Island Slice and Kromanti rum are in the running for best alcoholic beverage.
