A rum mule is not only a fiery cocktail that serves a punch due to the addition of ginger beer, it also has wonderful layers of mint and of course the rum serves as a warm delight whilst sipping this tropical creation. The name ‘Mule’ in Rum Mule refers to the cocktails strong kick from the ginger beer. The mule, tends to be served in a
copper mug, this helps to keep the cocktail cold and copper enhances its spicy and citrus aromas. Let’s get making!!!
The classic Super easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. You can use anything from a spiced rum to Puerto Rican rum, just experiment with various rums to create your own variation to your taste.
Ingredients
- Rum: 2 oz (60 ml)
- Fresh Lime juice: 0.5 oz (15 ml)
- Ginger beer: 4 oz (120 ml)
- Ice cubes: As needed
- Mint sprig: to garnish
- Lime wedge: to garnish
Instructions
- Pour 2 oz of rum over ice in a copper mug.
- Add 0.5 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice.
- Top with 4 oz of chilled ginger beer and stir gently.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint, give it a slap first! Add a wedge of lime, you can also run the lime around the rim of the glass and give a slight squeeze at the tip of your drink for even more zestyness (yes it is a word lol) . Enjoy!
