Rumora is still buzzing from a night of pure vibes, afro-house music and of course rum! We had our first (of many!!) rum events with a selected VIP guest list to help us kick off Notting Hill Carnival Weekend, Caribbean style.

For this event, our rum of choice was a fusion of St Lucia and Scotland! Island Slice is a Scottish-distilled rum, using traditional St. Lucian fermentation.

Sound interesting??? It certainly got our guests curious, especially when they read Scotch Bonnet Rum was part of the line-up!!

IslandSlice crafts traditional Caribbean rums using methods passed down through generations.

Founder, Sylvester says:
“Our rum-making process honours the heritage of those who first developed rum in the Caribbean. Using traditional “muck and dunder” fermentation and a combination of column and pot still distillation, we create spirits that capture the true essence of Caribbean rum”.

From their signature White Rum to their popular Scotch Bonnet Rum, Dark Rum, and Spiced Rum, each bottle represents the perfect fusion of St. Lucian tradition and Scottish craftsmanship. Our guests got to taste each of the profiles.

Led by Dwight of The Real Rum Experience, who not only is super knowledgeable on all matters rum, but he also provided an in-depth presentation with his experiences working with Island Slice distillery and led the attendees threw 3 rum profiles. Finishing off with a true, tropical, carnival style cocktail, The Jungle Bird, which the guest made themselves. We ended on high vibes.

Huge thanks to Island Slice Rum our sponsor, our VIP guest, our guest host Dwight and bringing the energy, Kotch/Ogogoro music for our Afro-House DJ set by Mysterex.
