Many a newbie to rum may not even know this drink is made outside the sunny shores of the Caribbean. But of course it only makes perfect sense that Africa is becoming a player in the game since the fermentation methods and knowledge go further back than the sugar cane slave trade era (slaves were kidnapped from Africa and taken to the Caribbean to work on plantations)
